Executive Functioning (EF): What is it and How Will Difficulties with EF Impact Students Academically and Socially 060 CourseCatalog/images/new.gif

Executive function skills are necessary for planning, organizing, time management, regulating emotions, focusing and task completion.  Although not identified as a learning disability, patterns of weakness with executive functioning are identified in profiles with students who have specific learning disabilities and ADHD.  Executive functioning skills may have more impact on school and life success than other variables such as IQ, class size, teacher preparedness and meeting content standards.  This presentation will provide participants (parents/students) with strategies to assist with successfully navigating their world despite these challenges.
