Much of the training is accomplished through partner drills and footwork. In addition to empty hand training the style includes use of certain training weapons with a method that flows from the basic self defense movements. The style covers weapon defense, parrying, countering. Various locking movements and takedowns. Involvement in the training is graduated as to the trainee degree of readiness and training smart and safety is emphasized. Anyone can train without regard to size or strength.
Benefits: Improve and develop reflex and hand to eye coordination, tone muscles with arm and shoulder exercise, develop discipline and focus, proper mindset and improves awareness, develop proper breathing, improve sense of balance, and instill self confidence.
Minimum Physical Skill: Practice of Arnis is toward physical balance and flexibility. Full use of hands and feet are expected. A healthy back and spine are also expected.
