Social Security will likely be the foundation of your retirement income. Before you retire, it’s important to understand your options and the effect your decisions have on your retirement. How does Social Security fit into my retirement income plan? When should I start taking benefits? What about taxes? What role will Medicare play during your retirement? The increasing cost of health care is a growing concern for current and future retirees. In fact, 25 years ago, retirees spent almost twice as much on food as on health care; now the amounts are nearly equal. We'll discuss Medicare coverage and traditional medical expenses, long-term medical care expenses, strategies for addressing uncovered expenses.
